Turkey’s first FSRU vessel arrives in Dortyol

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez announced that the first FSRU Ertugrul Gazi has arrived in Turkey. It was named after the father of Empire I, the founder of the Ottoman Empire. After certification, the vessel anchored in the port of Dortiol in Turkey’s southern province of Hatay.

“Our ship, which will be commissioned after testing, will contribute to the natural gas supply security of our country,” the minister said.

The Ertugrul Gazi vessel, owned by Turkish state-owned crude oil and natural gas transportation company Botas, will connect to facilities in Khatai before the new year. The capacity is 170,000 cubic meters.
