Interpipe signed a contract with the largest railway operator in Kazakhstan

The Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe for the first time concluded a direct contract for the supply of railway wheels to Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ), the largest operator of the main railway network of Kazakhstan.

Under the signed agreement, Interpipe will supply KTZ with 6 thousand railway wheels in 2019 and 20 thousand wheels in 2020.

Previously, Interpipe delivered products only to the car repair depot of Kazakhstan.

«The suspension of the anti-dumping duty by the Eurasian Economic Commission in the amount of 34.22% for the supply of railway wheels from Ukraine allowed Interpipe to conclude a long-term contract with the largest consumer of the Kazakh market. For us, this contract with a state corporation is a matter of prestige. However, the prospect of this cooperation will largely depend on the outcome of a new ECE investigation regarding the import of railway wheels from Ukraine,» said Denis Morozov, Director of Economics and Finance at Interpipe.

Interpipe is global producer of steel pipes and railway wheels, based in Ukraine. The company’s products are marketed in more than 80 countries all around the world via the network of sales offices located in key markets of Ukraine, Europe, North America and the Middle East. In 2018, Interpipe supplied 857 kt of finished goods, including 189 kt of railway products.

Interpipe has 12 thousand people working at the company’s facilities. During 2018 the Company transferred UAH 2.17bln in taxes to budgets of all levels and extra-budgetary funds.
