The news site Maritimebulletin reports that the ZHONG HUA FU QIANG ferry exploded in China on April 19. The explosion was followed by a fire. The ferry was supposed to go to the port of Dalian. All passengers were evacuated, the cargo deck was sealed, but as of noon on April 20, a fire was still raging and black smoke was coming from the ship.
The ferry serves the line Weihai – Dalian, China, Yellow Sea, it was built in 2020 and entered service in September last year. Operator WEIHAI HAIDA PASSENGER.
