MacGregor has concluded a contract for the two RoPax ferries

Cargo and load-handling solutions provider MacGregor has concluded a contract with an unidentified shipowner in Scandinavia for the conversion of two RoPax ferries.

The company, part of Cargotec, is also to deliver linkspans for RoRo operations to a Scandinavian customer.

Both contracts are worth approximately EUR 10 million (USD 11.2 million), MacGregor said.

The equipment is scheduled for delivery between the first and third quarters of 2020.

MacGregor’s RoRo conversion team specializes in ferry conversions and the optimization of shore-based facilities and upgrading of cargo flow systems.

The company is currently also in the process of acquiring the marine and offshore businesses of TTS Group ASA. The transaction had initially been expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2019, but regulatory processes from competition authorities in China have pushed the official takeover to the second quarter. The company is yet to announce the closing of deal.
