Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) has already begun paying the debt to the state and is doing so according to the schedule that it itself initiated. This was stated in an interview with RBC-Ukraine by the Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Krykliy.
According to the minister, the management of UIA is currently negotiating with the state-owned enterprise UkSATSE on debt repayment to Ukraine. «UIA initiated themselves this schedule, have already begun payments. For their part, they announced that they are closing all unprofitable flights, mainly to the Asian region, and will concentrate on profitable destinations in order to change their financial model,» Vladyslav Krykliy said.
He also noted that the company will face bankruptcy if it does not settle accounts with the state.
