Samsung Heavy made a deal to build 4 LNG carriers

Samsung Heavy Industries company has concluded an agreement to build 4 LNG carriers.

The shipbuilder received newbuilding orders from a US shipowner, SHI said in a regulatory filing without revealing further details.

The sum of contract is USD 774.9 million. The terms are obliged the Samsung Heavy to deliver new vessels by the end of September 2022.

Samsung Heavy earlier informed that its 2019 orderbook tagret was set at USD 7.8 billion, up 24 percent over last year’s orders amid a strong appetite in the newbuilding market all over the world, particularly for LNG ships and containerships.
