Splash247 news portal reports that Elon Musk wants to enter the container shipping sector, but from a different angle. The Boring Company, which Musk founded five years ago, developed the concept of a tunnel through which containers could be transported.
While much of the media coverage for Boring has focused on passenger transport, the company currently offers a freight solution on its website using a 3.66m tunnel that “barely” fits 9.6ft containers. The presentation showed single and double configurations with suitably sized battery-powered cargo carriers.
Also, the company does not exclude cooperation with DP World (Dubai) and Virgin Hyperloop (California).
