Hamburg port receives three new container gantry cranes

Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) delivered three new container gantry cranes for its Burchardkai container terminal (CTB) on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, in Hamburg. It is reported by The Maritime Executive.

The new cranes manufactured by ZPMC will provide HHLA with additional capacities to handle more than 23,000 TEU ultra-large container ships (ULCVs).

The cranes will replace the three smaller blocks in the CTB that have already been dismantled. HHLA ordered two more large container gantry cranes of the same type. They will be delivered in the first quarter of 2020. When loading and unloading equipment is operational, HHLA will have an additional berth for large vessels in Burcharday.
