Eleven seafarers have been reported missing

Eleven seafarers have been reported missing following a cargo ship sinking incident off China’s Liaoning Province, China Plus said citing local authorities.

Namely, an unnamed cargo vessel, which was loaded with a cargo of sand, sank in the seas off Liaoning in the early morning hours of October 21.

The incident was reported to the maritime search and rescue center of Huludao City at around 5 a.m.

The local government, as well as the maritime search and rescue center, dispatched a number of ships and air units to find the missing seafarers.

Relevant authorities also launched an investigation into the incident.
